The Swans have had no trouble in drumming up interest here in Ottawa.  On Monday club president Roman Dzioba headed on down to CBC Radio after the station contacted the Swans wanting to do a story.  The interview and overview of the Ottawa Swans has given the club a huge boost with record visits to the website along with several new Canadian players signing on to help build the club.  The club has also been approached by a couple other news outlets so keep on eye on this space and we will publish them when they hit the stands!

The Swans will be getting together for there first team meeting of 2007 next weekend. We will be going over a few things for the upcoming season, what to expect, meet and greet ect. All new players, supporters, wives and girlfriends are welcome and encouraged  to come along and get involved. This is an informal event over a couple of beers however all players should try and make it along.

Its only been a few short months but the Ottawa Swans are starting to take shape.  With new players sigining up and showing interest almost every week it shouldnt be long before the boys can put boot to leather in 2007.   A list of over 15 players has so far been gathered with several Canadians and Australians looking to have a kick.  The real test for the Swans lies in the next couple of months as they try to get sponsorship and lift there numbers before the March deadline to join the OAFL. 

Its Been a long time coming but Ottawa finally has an Australian Football Club to call its own!

The idea grew from now president Roman Dzioba after an extended stay in OZ where he took his passion for the great game back to Ottawa with the intention of getting a club established here to play in the OAFL in 2007.  While the Swans are now off and running there is still alot of work to be done before the first ball is kicked in 2007.

We are in strong need of players of all skills both Canadians and Ex-Pat Aussies who are itching to get the boots back on.  Full training will be provided starting early 2007 and possibly earlier, so Canadaians if you have seen the game and wanna come down for a kick or just want a great social life come summer time then sign up now!
