The Sydney Morning Herald featured the Swans this week further lifting the profile of the Ontario club and the Ontario Australian Football League.  Freelance photographer David Gonczol captured the boys going through their paces in knee deep snow and sent the photo and accompanying caption to print in Sydney's biggest newspaper.

Justin Dahan has joined the Ottawa Swans in 2008 as the teams independent journalist, Justin has extensive experience in sports journalism including writing for Hockey Prime Time, Hokeja Vestnesis and Most Valuable Network.  Justin will follow the Swans every move and bring it to you throughout 2008 right here!

The Ontario Australian Football League 2008 Schedule was released this week.  The Swans will play 9 home games here in Ottawa giving everyone plenty of fooball to watch!

The Swans have released 3 new features to there website in the lead up to the 2008 season.  Swans Shop, 2008 Memberships and the new Swans Mail have all made there debut on www.ottawaswans.com in recent weeks.

It may not be CFL but....Its Official!  The Ottawa Swans Australian Football Club will compete in the Ontario Australian Football League in 2008 becoming the 10th team in the largest Australian Football League outside of Australia!  Finally Football is coming back to Ottawa!

The Swans took on Guelph on saturday in there third official game for the year.  All didnt quite go as the Swans had hoped going down to the more experienced Gargoyels by 6 goals.

Guelph travelled the 4 and a half hours as part of there end of season trip and gave the Ottawa boys a chance to put some game time under there belt before there debut in the OAFL in 2008.

 The lads started slowly and found themselves 3 goals down only 10mins into the first quarter!  The last 5 mins had the boys settle down a little and big Dave started to win the ruck hitouts and Dermie took control of the middle for the Swans.  Jake and Seth; both rookies in the midfield held there own early while the Swans new full back Swampy started to feel his way.

Along with a successful AGM the Swans also handed out some 'Awards' to fellas for there work this year - this is a wrap up of the day.  You can see all the photos of the afternoon on the Swans Photo board.
